At Real Perspective, our mission is to cultivate strong, supported clinicians who can serve their communities with competence and confidence.

The Real Impact Institute has been developed as a professional bridge between graduate-level education and independent private practice. Our programs provide a structured environment for both emerging and established clinicians:

  • Participants will gain clarity on supervision requirements, learn practical methods for building and managing a caseload, and develop foundational business knowledge. In addition, LLPs will be introduced to a mentorship cohort designed to offer professional support and accountability during the critical early stages of practice.

  • This track focuses on advanced panels and collaborative discussions led by guest speakers and experienced practitioners. Topics include scaling a practice, integrating sustainable business systems, and strengthening clinician identity in a competitive marketplace.

    Registration for the Forum extends beyond the event itself. Participants will be introduced to the Entrepreneurship Circle, a continuing professional development series designed to provide ongoing mentorship, advanced education, and a professional peer community.

  • In Michigan, supervision is a licensing requirement for Limited Licensed Professional Counselors (LLPCs) and Limited Licensed Psychologists (LLPs). It ensures new clinicians receive feedback, maintain ethical standards, and develop strong clinical judgment while protecting clients. Beyond compliance, supervision also provides guidance, accountability, and support during the early years of practice.

  • Supervision is required and focuses on oversight, clinical skills, and ethics. Mentorship is voluntary and more relational—helping new clinicians navigate the business side of private practice, avoid burnout, and build professional identity. Together, they create a balanced foundation for growth.

  • Michigan requires LLPCs to complete 3,000 hours of post-master’s counseling experience under supervision over at least two years. Within those hours, a portion must include direct supervision meetings. Learn more on LARA’s official licensing guide.
